Not Just Another Users Group Meeting
Matt Hertel, SVP of FMSI
Many of you feel the excitement and anticipation about the upcoming football season just like we feel the excitement and anticipation of another FMSI Users Group Meeting all around the office. When a football season ends, you’ll typically see teams take some time off to rest and recover before starting to plan and begin practicing for the next season. We pretty much do the same thing at FMSI after the completion of our annual Users Group Meeting, we take a little time off before we begin to plan and prepare for our next annual conference.
UGM Pre-game planning Our 2015 UGM is right around the corner and we’ve entered the heavy planning part of preparing for this year’s conference. Like a football team working to improve in certain areas to produce better results during the upcoming season, we are hard at work looking for ways to make our 2015 UGM better than prior years, analyzing valuable customer feedback along with learning from our prior conferences.
UGM Event Theme This year’s theme is “Georgia on My Mind”. After establishing a pattern of alternating coasts with our prior conferences, we decided to bring this year’s conference back to Atlanta, our home city—after we lost our colleague and primary UGM event planner Jack Johns in January. Jack played a significant role in planning our prior conferences, and decided hosting our annual event in our hometown would be best for this year’s event.
UGM Game Plan We’ve prepared an agenda with sessions, activities and events that are Georgia themed, along with a special tribute to our friend Jack during the opening session. Customer feedback consistently indicates that the most valuable session each year is the Peer-to-Peer Exchange so this year we’re planning to work two Peer-to-Peer sessions into the agenda—with one being a panel of experienced FMSI customers. A few other highlighted sessions on our 2015 UGM agenda include:
- A demo of our new Omnix Appointment Concierge™
- The FMSI Roadmap
- Breakouts for different products in the Omnix Suite, including: Omnix Lobby Tracker™ and Omnix Performance Analytics™
- Numerous Interactive Activities
- An Industry related Case Study
UGM Entertainment Like any good football game with halftime, we’ve also planned a fun offsite event for this year’s conference. Atlanta has many great entertainment options and this year we will be taking our UGM attendees and guests on a trip to the CNN World Headquarters for an Inside CNN Studio Tour. What a great way to end the middle day of the conference by seeing where much of the CNN programming is actually produced!
UGM Registration Our conference will be held at the award winning Mandarin Oriental in the heart of Buckhead, Atlanta. Discounted room rates are available and registration is open until August 31, 2015. We’d love for all our clients to join us for this year’s conference.
